 Function
The Temperature Sensor is mounted to the Automobile to measure temperature, and sends the result to the Temperature Display, Fan Control, and the EMS (Engine Management System).
Temperature Sensor's for Automobile's can be classified into CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor), Intake air temperature Sensors, and Ambient air temperature Sensors.
Product Characteristics
- Temperature Sensors consist of a Temperature dependent Resistor which is located inside the Protective Housing.
- There are 2 kinds of Ceramic Resistors which are called Thermister. One has low Resistance at high Temperature levels due to the NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) characteristic, and the other one has a high Resistance level at low Temperature levels due to PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) characteristics.
